Some questions we hear a lot. So much so that we decided to provide some answers.

What is Redpoint?

It’s a high-quality West Lafayette community designed especially with Purdue University students in mind. Redpoint features a variety of exceptionally large townhomes and apartments in a genuine neighborhood setting just a short bus ride from the Purdue campus

Is Redpoint part of Purdue University?

No. Redpoint is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management and ownership.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Redpoint has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Redpoint pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Furnishings
  • High-speed Internet
  • Trash removal
  • Community features – 24-hour fitness center, private bus service, etc.
Are the homes furnished?

Yes, Redpoint includes a full-size bed, desk/chair, dresser set in each bedroom, plus a sofa, chair, coffee table, end table and entertainment stand in each living room. All residences include a full kitchen and laundry appliance package. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model residences.

How big are the homes?

The townhomes and apartments are among the largest residences in West Lafayette, ranging from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bedroom townhomes with two or three stories and up to 2,000 square feet. Every floorplan offers a private bathroom for each bedroom, plus many have an extra half-bath.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 14, 2024 to July 25, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Other alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Redpoint also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Redpoint?

Your living costs at Redpoint can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Redpoint. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Redpoint open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Redpoint West Lafayette are students at Purdue University and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Residents/families with children are welcome. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. Redpoint is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Redpoint offers individually locking bedroom doors. Management staff are also available 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Redpoint is pet-friendly, subject to limits on animals and breed. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Redpoint?

Yes, Redpoint offers free surface parking for all residents. Limited guest parking is also available at no charge.

What other transportation options will I have?

Redpoint offers a private bus (24) that runs to and from campus every 30 minutes starting as early as 7am, on weekdays when class is in session during the Purdue Fall and Spring semesters. The bus picks up at the entrance to the community and stops at Purdue West, Lily Hall, Krannert Building, and the Purdue Vet Medicine Building.
